World Alzheimer’s Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness and understanding for people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The Dutch theme for 2025 is “Making Music Together”, and that’s not without reason. Music touches the soul, makes people connect, and evokes memories. It can create valuable moments of contact, relaxation, and recognition.
Research by Wang et al. (2019) shows that music therapy can have a positive effect on people with dementia. It not only helps reduce challenging behaviours but also alleviates psychological symptoms.
Making Music and Dancing
The SilverFit Alois fits perfectly with this theme. Various interactive games invite people to experience music together and get moving, such as:
- Seated dancing: dance to cheerful melodies while safely seated;
- Conducting with music: feel like an orchestra conductor and experience music in a new way;
- The music game: a fun silhouette game—move more and more musical notes will appear on the screen;
- Moving with Joël: joyful movement exercises set to rhythmic music.
Make today a beautiful and musical day. Turn on the SilverFit Alois, move along, and enjoy the moment together!
