SilverFit was founded in 2008 by Joris Wiersinga and Maaike Dekkers-Duijts. We wanted to improve geriatric care in the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Both of us worked at McKinsey and company before founding SilverFit.

In collaboration with leading institutions in the field of virtual rehabilitation in the Netherlands and Belgium we developed our first product within a year. The SIlverFit has been on the Dutch market since january 2009. Starting from October 2009, SilverFit is also active in the international market.

By now, a team of physiotherapists, scientists, programmers, artists, game designers and sound designers works at or with SilverFit to further improve and enhance our current product, and to develop new products.

We hope that this will contribute to better health and independent living of elderly people in the Netherlands and the rest of the world.
